Blood type is one of the most mysterious body taxonomies. You can change your diet and type of exercise, but there is nothing you can do to change your blood type, which is determined by microscopic substances, passed down from parents, and lives on the surface of red blood cells in your body. We know there are four types of blood types, namely A, B, AB and O and all of them represent four groups of antigens found on the surface of red blood cells. Blood type is not only needed to mark the blood storage of blood donors or to receive blood from other people, human blood type can reveal complicated patterns of one’s health problems. The surface substance of red blood cells interacts with the immune system, increasing your risk of suffering from certain diseases. In other words, your risk of suffering from heart problems, cancer and other diseases can depend on whether your blood type is A, B, AB or O. Here are some health problems based on human blood type.

Memory Problem

Most at risk: Blood type AB
The brain and circulatory system have much in common than expected. Recent research has found that people with blood type AB, 82% more likely to experience difficulty with memory, language, and concentration than people with other blood types. One reason researchers suspect is that the key protein that acts as a blood clot, known as factor VIII coagulation, might reduce the quality of blood flow to the brain than close the wounded part. Own memory problems of many types, ranging from dementia (senility) Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease or Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Dementia or dementia is a condition when a person has problems with memory, language, or other mental functions. Senility usually does not interfere with daily activities, but in some cases, people with memory problems called amnesty may have an increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, there is also a common type of dementia called vascular dementia. This condition occurs when blood flow is disrupted, for example due to stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hardening of the arteries, and diabetes Patients with vascular dementia show symptoms such as confusion, difficulty following instructions or making difficult decisions. Parkinson’s disease can be a fairly common disorder with increasing age. This disease tends to occur more often in men, and affects movement. Patients with this disease may appear to be trembling continuously (tremor), difficulty walking, lack of facial expression and speech disorders.

Pancreas Cancer

Most Risky: Blood Type Non-0
There is a truth to say that those who have blood type O have the lowest risk of pancreatic cancer, according to a study from Yale University in the United States. The study, conducted in July 2015 with experts from the American Cancer Center, examined cases caused by a common species of bacteria, Helicobacter pylori, or H. pylori, which lives in the human stomach. The pancreas is an organ located between the stomach, liver and intestine. This organ consists of two types of glands, namely the insulin gland and digestive enzyme glands. Gland cancer that occurs in this gland is rare. The cancer has several designations, depending on the type of cancer cell or by the hormone produced by cancer, namely carcinoid tumor, islet cell carcinoma, insulinoma, glucagonoma, and so on. While glandular tissue that produces enzymes helps in digestion of food. This gland flows into the canal and then into the small intestine. These are cells from the channel that can turn into cancer. This is where pancreatic cancer is more common, usually from a type called adenocarcinoma. Cases of pancreatic cancer increase with age Most patients are aged between 50 and 80 years. The main risk factors for cancer are smoking habits, while drinking alcohol and fat consumption are suspected even though there is no scientific evidence. The symptoms of pancreatic cancer are generally unclear and non-specific. Weight loss is one of the initial symptoms. However, there are many other medical and non-medical causes which results in weight loss. A more obvious symptom may be the appearance of yellow, or yellowish on the white part of the eye. Researchers found that those infected with H. pylori bacteria were significantly more likely to have pancreatic cancer, because A and B antigens help the bacteria survive. People with blood type O do not have anitgen on the surface of their red blood cells, this is what makes people in O group be able to donate blood to everyone.

Heart Disease

Most at risk: Blood type AB
Coronary heart disease also known as ischemic heart disease is one of the highest causes of death in Indonesia. According to the World Heart Federation, in 2014
the death rate from coronary heart disease in Southeast Asia reached 1.8 million cases. While in Indonesia, around 35 percent of deaths are caused by heart disease.
Someone is said to have coronary heart disease if blood flow to his heart is blocked by fat. The accumulation of fat in the heart arteries is known as atherosclerosis and is a major cause of coronary heart disease.
Atherosclerosis is very dangerous because it can reduce blood supply to the heart and also cause the formation of thrombosis or blood clots. If this happens, blood flow to
the heart is blocked completely and a heart attack occurs.
Triggers for atherosclerosis include high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Coronary heart disease is divided into two types which are categorized based on the level of inhibition of blood flow, namely angina (sitting wind) and heart attack. If not handled,
Heart disease can lead to deadly complications or known as heart failure.
In 2012, research from Harvard University in the United States found that people with blood type non-0 also had an increased risk of heart disease. But those with blood type AB have the highest risk, about 23% chance of suffering from heart disease compared to blood type O. Researchers suspect that certain antigens have the same effect on cholesterol and blood pressure.

Stress

Risk: Blood Type A
People who are blood type A, for example, have higher cortisol levels in their bodies. Cortisol is a stress hormone and when the adrenal glands release more cortisol in
blood, your stress gets worse. People with blood type A may be more anxious and have difficulty releasing anxiety if they encounter problems. Therefore, exercise that reduces stress
like Tai Chi and yoga, it may be useful to reduce pressure rather than jogging or lifting weights.

Digestive Tract Bacteria

Most at risk: Non-B blood type
Besides living in red blood cells, antigens are often found in the walls of the digestive tract, about 80% of people are in this category. Many bacteria that live in the intestine use antigens as food. Previous research has estimated that people with blood type B have more than 50,000 times the amount of friendly bacteria than people with blood type A or O.
In addition, according to Dr. Peter D’Adamo, author of the book “Eat Right 4 Your Type”, changes in the content of the microflora of the digestive tract can be associated with metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes and obesity.

Gastric Problem

Most Risky: Blood Type O
Ulcer disease or dyspepsia is a condition that starts when there is inflammation in the inner stomach wall. Gastric inflammation that lasts frequently or continuously makes the inner lining of the stomach wall erode so that a wound is formed called a gastric ulcer. Pain like pain or heat from the neck to the middle of the abdomen, is
general symptoms of heartburn.
There are two main causes of heartburn, namely the helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) and the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen or aspirin in sufficient time.
long. H. pylori bacteria are bacteria that can irritate and cause the appearance of wounds on the stomach or upper intestine.
Bacteria that cause stomach cancer in people with blood types A and AB, may increase the risk of heartburn in blood type O. Researchers do not know exactly how this blood type group can modify the body’s immune response to bacteria.
